Driving Legislative Change for Music in Europe and the US

Artists and their representatives have been lobbying for improved regulations covering many aspects of the music industry for years. As well as campaigning for improved remuneration, they now face the emergence of AI and the challenges it presents such as deepfakes and copyright infringement. Legislative initiatives covering data transparency and many other subjects have taken place recently, and to different extents, in the EU, UK and US. This could have a major impact on the music streaming ecosystem, tech companies and the industry as a whole. We will hear more about recent lobbying, campaigns, regulations and laws that have been passed and how they will affect the music industry and have other practical implications We will also be discussing what still needs to be done and how we can create a fairer music industry for all.Presented by Nick Yule, Dani Deahl & Ole Henrik Antonsen
