Sørveiv Music Conference – Rethinking the Conference-Format
Usually, November isn’t the month we would recommend others to visit Norway. It’s cold, dark, windy and wet, but from the 31st of October through 2nd November you should consider going anyway.
Many of the people in the music industry spend weekend after weekend at music conferences all across Europe and the US. All of them are fighting to get your attention, touting the latest and greatest of bookers, managers, sync supervisors, workshops with feedback to artists, the best opportunities for expanding your ever-so-important network, and so on and so on.
Sørveiv Music Conference is similar in some regards, but crucially different in the ways that matter. We believe there is a difference in attending a conference and participating in it. We try to solve problems and push the discussion forward. Hold each other accountable and trying to dive a little deeper than the usual surface level of the issues.
This is the foundation on which we build everything we do at Sørveiv Music Conference. The past three years, Andy Inglis, Daniel Nordgård and Francine Gorman did an exceptional job at shaping the form of the conference and curating its sessions. From this year on, new forces are taking over their legacy. This year’s curator team consists of Jon Olav Sandal, Nicholas van Eck and Anna Willrodt.
