Jon McIldowie started his career booking gigs in his hometown of Birmingham before moving to London in 2001 to become the promoter at The Barfly in Camden. In 2006 he co-founded and directed The Great Escape Festival in Brighton and shortly after that started talent buying for both Lovebox and Wilderness Festivals.
He joined Festival Republic in 2012 where he now resides over talent booking for the company’s Reading and Leeds festivals (200,000 capacity), the Finsbury Park weekender (45,000 capacity) and Gunnersville Festival (12,000 capacity). Jon has also overseen the booking for the UK’s leading urban festival Wireless (45,000 capacity). His booking involves putting together huge line-ups featuring the biggest names in contemporary music and blending them with up and coming stars from a variety of genres. He now in addition promotes tours with Live Nation for acts such as Post Malone, Queens of The Stone Age, Migos and The 1975.
