About Sørveiv

Tomorrow’s music today

The music showcase festival Sørveiv was established in 2010, and since then its relevance for discovering Nordic bands and artists has grown huge.

Sørveiv is now entering its seventh year. In 2017, it takes place November 10th and 11th in Kristiansand. The festival is known for its broad genre variety and consists of 40 up-and-coming artists mainly from the Nordic countries, but also from Germany and the rest of Europe. Our vision is to create a festival full of promising, talented and unique bands and artist in a variety of genres ranging from noise rock through R’n’B and electronica to singer-songwriters. We give you the tunes of tomorrow, promising you that you will find music matching your preferences. The foremost up-and-coming acts from the region of Southern Norway will have their natural place in the program. The concerts will be at six different venues, right in the heart of Kristiansand.

The poster artwork

Sørveiv’s poster designs are created in close collaboration with Agder Contemporary Art Centre. Every year’s poster is designed by a different experienced artist from the region of Southern Norway. The results are outstanding and unique poster designs throughout Sørveiv’s 7-year history. This year’s poster is designed by Karen Pettersen.

Pettersen (*1982) lives and works in Kristiansand. She has a degree from Bergen Academy of Arts a member of the artist collectives Kunstitusjon and Luftkollektivet.
